about this bronze sculpture
Sadegh Adham’s bronze sculpture, combining a horse and sword with patina, explores themes of power, strength, and the warrior spirit. In many cultures, the horse symbolizes freedom and nobility, while the sword represents justice, protection, and conflict.
In Persian and Greek mythology, the horse is linked to gods and heroes, symbolizing bravery and divine power. The sword, often a symbol of valor, complements the horse’s grace, creating a fusion of strength and elegance.
The patina enhances the bronze medium, adding depth and texture to both the horse’s motion and the sword’s sharp authority. The patina emphasizes the contrast between the soft curves of the horse and the sword’s precise edge, creating a dynamic interplay.
The rich tones of the patina evoke a timeless connection to ancient traditions, grounding the sculpture in both materiality and symbolism. Adham’s work merges the horse’s nobility with the sword’s might, creating a powerful symbol of legendary strength.
