about this Mixed Media sculpture
This aluminum sculpture of a crow, standing atop a perfectly polished cylindrical base, continues the artist’s ongoing exploration of introspection, resilience, and silent strength. As part of the Crows series, it distills complex emotion into a single, focused form.
Long considered messengers between worlds, crows symbolize intelligence, observation, and transformation. Here, the bird’s stance is calm but alert, its sleek form rendered with precision, suggesting control, awareness, and latent energy. The crow becomes not just a bird, but a sentinel, witnessing, remembering, and waiting.
The smooth, cylindrical pedestal contrasts with the feathered texture of the crow’s body, drawing the eye upward and reinforcing the tension between grounded stability and elevated insight. This base becomes both a stage and a symbol of focus, of silence, of permanence.
Crafted in aluminum, the sculpture has a refined, contemporary presence. Its polished surfaces catch and reflect light with clarity, creating a dynamic interplay as viewers move around the piece. This reflective quality enhances its meditative character, inviting personal contemplation from every angle.
Minimal yet profound, this crow stands not as decoration but as presence quietly commanding attention, echoing the artist’s deeper interest in stillness, awareness, and the internal landscapes we all carry.
