Julian Castaldi, A UK-born artist and photographer now based in Dubai, draws inspiration from his residency in Los Angeles and the West Coast in the early '90s.
In 1992, the artist's love for vintage Arabic aesthetics began at Mashti Malone's ice cream parlor in West Hollywood, where an old Arabic ice cream sign captured his admiration for its elegant script.
This marked the beginning of his collection of vintage Arabic ads and signs. Little did he anticipate that this fascination would eventually lead him to Dubai, where he resided for the past decade.
His designs and paintings uniquely capture iconic figures from fashion, music, and motorsport, employing strong patterns and vibrant, contrasting colors.
Castaldi, having collaborated with renowned brands and personalities like Tom Jones, Oasis, and Red Bull, showcases a distinctive artistic vision influenced by mass culture.
