This sculpture is crafted from keikam burl, walnut, and mesquite wood. The piece is named Luminous Wound in reference to the natural cavities in the wood. These imperfections, once exposed, transformed into striking visual elements.

The artist embraced the raw character of the material rather than masking its flaws. The contrast of darker walnut and mesquite highlights the lighter burl base beautifully. Every curve, grain, and void adds emotion and texture to the final form.

This piece celebrates the inherent beauty found within scars and fractures. It was completed using plant-based oil to preserve and protect the wood. The final finish is rich in tone and resistant to moisture.
