about this bronze sculpture
Sadegh Adham’s Bull Series bronze sculptures, enhanced with black patina, explore themes of strength, resilience, and mythological symbolism. The bull, celebrated across cultures, symbolizes divine authority, sacrifice, and endurance, bridging the earthly and spiritual realms.
In Persian mythology, the bull embodies cosmic balance and agricultural life, representing the cycle of creation and destruction. Adham reimagines the bull, fusing its raw energy with elegance, blending ancient symbolism with modern artistic expression.
The black patina on the bronze sculptures adds depth, mystery, and contrast, enhancing their commanding presence and intricate details. The patina accentuates the bull’s muscular form, highlighting dynamic interplay of light and shadow, and intensifying its sense of motion.
Bronze, renowned for its durability and ability to capture fine details, portrays the bull’s strength and enduring essence. The dark tones of the black patina create a striking visual effect, grounding the sculpture in both mythological depth and contemporary aesthetics.
Adham’s Bull Series unites mythology and materiality, capturing the bull’s physical power and symbolic significance. Each sculpture invites contemplation, bridging timeless traditions with innovative artistry.

Symbolic volumes with calligraphy, locks, zarih (an orante that encloses a grave in a mosque or Islamic shrine) and Phoenix, each of which is a sign of Persian tales and stories while also being beautiful and commendable.
The artist's compelling focus on shape and volume, along with a dramatic emphasis, establishes a strong allure and tangible presence to the forms. These sculptures are remarkable examples of three dimensional forms, animal portraiture and the artist's impeccable knowledge of craft.
His mythical creatures series of bronze sculptures features dynamic figurines of dominant, feisty bulls and gracefully resting horses, mysterious owls, majestic lions, resilient camels, and enchanting birds. All of which represent conventional symbols of virility, fertility, wisdom, and power.
