about this mixed media sculpture
This sculpture takes the form of a cylindrical vessel composed of repeating typographic elements. The word “privacy” is rendered again and again, creating an open web-like surface in a striking, saturated green. Light passes through the gaps, casting rhythmic shadows that shift across the surrounding space, giving the sculpture a quiet, unsettling presence.
This piece continues Mohammadhadi’s investigation into language, control, and the erosion of meaning. Once a symbol of personal space and protection, the word privacy becomes visually tangled and overexposed. Its repetition turns it from a promise into a pattern, from significance into surface. The web formed by its letters suggests both a barrier and a trap, inviting viewers to question what privacy truly means today.
The green finish evokes life and renewal but also carries an artificial edge. The color, vibrant and almost too lush, lends a tension to the work. It suggests growth under constraint or visibility mistaken for freedom. The sculpture appears open and breathable, yet it holds no clarity, no message, only the illusion of meaning repeated into silence.
Mohammadhadi’s work invites reflection on how values can be lost through saturation. The vessel does not speak, it hums. It does not shield, it exposes. In this quiet monument to a fading ideal, we are left to consider what has been protected, what has been shared, and what might never return.
