about this mixed media on canvas painting
This series of mixed media paintings by Omid Masoumi explores the emotional weight of landscapes through abstract mountain forms. Using layered acrylic, ink, and collage, Masoumi constructs textured surfaces that suggest distant peaks and desert horizons, inspired by the natural beauty of Iran.
His signature triangular shapes evoke the essence of mountains, silent, enduring, and solitary. The compositions blend intuitive brushwork with defined geometric edges, creating a balance between spontaneity and structure. Deep blues, muted earth tones, and layered transparencies invite a sense of calm and contemplation.
These minimal forms, often resembling isolated pyramids or peaks, reflect themes of solitude, resilience, and memory. Masoumi’s tactile approach adds a sense of physical depth, encouraging viewers to engage beyond the surface.
Through this series, he transforms the simple geometry of a triangle into a symbolic space, quiet, vast, and emotionally resonant. The result is a poetic dialogue between abstraction and nature, presence and distance.
