about this mixed media painting
Born in 1959 in Arak, Iran, Mohammad Hadi Fadavi left Persian literature studies to pursue visual art. Over time, he developed as a painter, stage designer, and costume designer with a distinctive artistic voice. His style builds a clear connection between Persian miniature and modern Iranian artistic expressions.
He worked in cinema as a stage and costume assistant with filmmakers including Ebrahim Hatami. Animal motifs such as fish, owls, and roosters often appeared in his earlier works. The cypress tree, a symbol of life, later entered his compositions in refined linear form. Gradually, horses became the central focus of his visual language and personal symbolism.
His paintings bring miniature aesthetics into a modern context while remaining rooted in cultural and historical awareness. Each artwork explores harmony between form and meaning while encouraging observation and interpretation.
Riderless horses appear in vivid colors like blue, turquoise, saffron, white, and soft gray. Their bodies gently touch and shift hues as they pass, creating movement and visual poetry. These flowing interactions reflect the artist's sensitivity to beauty, elegance, and the spirit of refinement.
His work has been shown in France, Portugal, Italy, Greece, and Germany across many exhibitions. He has received numerous awards at both regional and international levels for his unique vision. His work was selected by the International Museum of Twentieth Century Arts to represent the art of Iran.
