about the artist

Mitra Mantus, born in Tehran in 1988, is a contemporary Iranian visual artist currently based in Dubai. She holds a sociology degree.

Her passion for painting began in childhood, and she developed her artistic skills through self-study and experience, without formal training. After completing her studies, she moved to China, where working in colorful fabric design greatly influenced the colors in her paintings.

In 2019, Mitra returned to Iran and dedicated herself fully to painting, focusing mainly on large-scale works that defined her style. This period marked a turning point in her artistic journey, leading her to explore new creative directions and larger artistic expressions.

She later relocated to Dubai to expand her artistic career and explore new opportunities in the evolving art world. Mitra embraces new experiences, believing they are essential to shaping her creative vision and evolving her artistic approach over time.

This mindset led her to mural and wall painting. She enjoys the fast-paced process and the way people interact with her art. Known professionally as Mitra Mantus, she sees "Mantus" as a symbol of creativity and intellect in her artistic world.

Her work explores the subtleties of daily life, capturing fleeting moments that often go unnoticed in the flow of time. Mitra’s artistic intent is to paint "The echoes of fleeting moments that slip unnoticed through the rhythm of your everyday life."

Using vibrant colors, large-scale compositions, and thought-provoking themes, she encourages viewers to reflect on the deeper layers of existence.
