Roxana Fazeli is an Iranian artist with a background in photography from Tehran’s Markaz University, who has garnered attention for her environmentally conscious mixed-media sculptures made from recycled materials and industrial waste.

In her recent series "21st Century Myths," Fazeli reflects on the relationship between humans, animals, and technology. Her sculptures frequently employ recycled objects, such as papier-mâché, to represent endangered species, underscoring the environmental degradation caused by human progress.

This exploration is intended as both a commentary on the ecological consequences of industrialization and a tribute to nature.

Fazeli’s work is rich in symbolism and borrows from mythological themes. By incorporating animal forms and mythic references, she highlights the reverence ancient cultures held for nature, contrasting it with modern neglect.

IIn 2021, Fazeli returned to Shirin Gallery for Tehran 21st Century Myths.
