Keivan Biranvand, born in 1978 in Lorestan, Iran, is a sculptor whose work deeply resonates with the ancient bronze heritage of his region.

His "Colbert" bronze sculpture series reflects the struggles and resilience of people, blending modern themes with the historical essence of Lorestan's renowned ancient bronzes.

His pieces often portray human figures with bowed heads and crossed arms, symbolic of the sorrow and burden of existence.

These sculptures capture the entrapment of man within time and space, emphasizing themes of despair while exploring human unity and faith.

Biranvand’s works serve as both a homage to the cultural past and a commentary on the present social challenges.

Design elements of this bronze sculpture

In this bronze sculpture from Keivan Biranvand's "Colbert" series, the artist portrays a male figure. His arms rest at his sides, and his head tilts to one side.

The most striking feature is the presence of four ascending steps across the upper body. These steps extend up to the chest and symbolize a journey of growth or transformation.

They offer a visual metaphor for the human experience of progress amidst challenges. The use of bronze emphasizes the weight of this journey.

It grounds the figure in historical and cultural significance. The tilted head evokes contemplation and suggests an ongoing climb.

This represents the persistent effort of moving forward through time and space. The piece subtly intertwines the past and present.

It connects the viewer to deeper themes of endurance and evolution.
