 about this bronze sculpture

Sadegh Adham’s Lion Series of bronze sculptures explores the deep symbolism of the lion and sword in mythology. The lion, a symbol of strength, courage, and kingship, is often linked to deities and rulers. In Persian mythology, the lion is a protector, often associated with kings like the ancient Persian ruler, and a symbol of divine authority. The sword, a companion to the lion, represents power and justice, often wielded by heroes and gods.

The use of bronze enhances these themes, capturing the intricate details of the lion’s form and the sword's sharp elegance. Bronze, a durable and versatile medium, allows Adham to portray the fierce strength of the lion and the sharpness of the sword with incredible precision. The medium's earthy tones emphasize the mythic qualities of these symbols while grounding them in the material world.

Adham’s Lion Series combines mythology, symbolism, and craftsmanship. Each sculpture not only embodies the lion's majestic power but also conveys the enduring significance of the sword as a tool of justice. The bronze pieces come to life with dynamic expression, seamlessly blending the mythological and the material.

The sculptures by Sadegh Adham are based on Shahnameh mythology and are created with people from all origins and cultures in mind.

Symbolic volumes with calligraphy, locks, zarih (an orante that encloses a grave in a mosque or Islamic shrine) and Phoenix, each of which is a sign of Persian tales and stories while also being beautiful and commendable.

The artist's compelling focus on shape and volume, along with a dramatic emphasis, establishes a strong allure and tangible presence to the forms. These sculptures are remarkable examples of three dimensional forms, animal portraiture and the artist's impeccable knowledge of craft.

His mythical creatures series of bronze sculptures features dynamic figurines of dominant, feisty bulls and gracefully resting horses, mysterious owls, majestic lions, resilient camels, and enchanting birds. All of which represent conventional symbols of virility, fertility, wisdom, and power.
