about this bronze sculpture
This bronze sculpture portrays an elongated female figure, her neck extended gracefully, rising from a uniquely shaped river stone base. The smooth bronze contrasts beautifully with the organic texture of the stone, creating a harmonious and tactile visual dialogue.
Themes of identity, resilience, and transformation are delicately suggested through the interplay of materials and sculptural form. Nayeri's craftsmanship emphasizes both movement and stillness, inviting viewers into a contemplative and emotional experience.
The organic base anchors the abstract figure, symbolizing strength, grounding, and the continuity between nature and humanity. His sculptural language combines refined minimalism with expressive surfaces, making each piece both intimate and monumental.
About the artist
Seena Nayeri was born in March 1983 in Mashhad, Iran, and has become a celebrated sculptor in contemporary art. Nayeri is renowned for blending traditional craftsmanship with a modern sensibility, creating sculptures with emotional and conceptual depth.
He began his artistic training in 2007 under the mentorship of Parviz Tanavoli, a pivotal figure in Iranian sculpture. This mentorship helped Nayeri develop a distinctive style focused on material contrasts and poetic visual language. His work often explores human emotions and existential questions, using abstraction to evoke personal and universal themes.
In pieces like "Dazed," Nayeri demonstrates an exceptional ability to capture feeling through simple yet profound forms. He frequently plays with surface contrasts, using polished and textured areas to create dynamic visual and emotional tension.
Throughout his career, Nayeri has exhibited widely in solo and group shows across Iran's leading galleries. Solo exhibitions include "Fools Carnival" at Seyhoun Art Gallery (Tehran, 2007) and "I'm Going to Make a Cake!" (Rasht, 2008). Group shows such as "Nothing and Everything" (Tehran, 2018) and "IRAN20 CHINA20" (Isfahan, 2019) highlight his collaborative spirit.
Nayeri’s sculptures bridge Iran’s rich artistic heritage with contemporary global practices, offering a timeless yet modern resonance. His dedication to craftsmanship and narrative depth makes his work distinctive, emotionally impactful, and intellectually engaging.
Today, Nayeri continues to explore new sculptural forms, pushing the boundaries of material, emotion, and abstract storytelling. Each of his pieces invites reflection on resilience, identity, and the enduring strength found in quiet, contemplative moments.
