about this fiberglass sculpture
"Brain Party" is a sculptural work by Behnaz Mohammadhadi that blends irony, precision, and emotional symbolism. A white fiberglass brain rests on a plate, clean and composed, until it is violently interrupted by a red fork and knife driven into its side. The scene is both domestic and surreal, turning a symbol of consciousness into a feast of psychological metaphor.
Here, the brain becomes more than a thinking organ, it is a site of consumption, division, and exposure. The cutlery, bright red and unapologetic, slices through intellect as if through flesh. It suggests the ways thought is dissected, served up, or consumed by others, by society, or by the self. The white surface, stark and clinical, contrasts sharply with the violence of the gesture.
Made from fiberglass, the sculpture is light in weight but heavy in meaning. Its smooth surfaces and exacting composition emphasize control, even in the face of chaos. With this work, Mohammadhadi asks us to confront the way we treat our own minds, how we overthink, over process, and sometimes invite the world to take a piece of us.
Playful yet unsettling, "Brain Party" reflects the artist’s ongoing investigation into internal landscapes. It captures the tension between intellect and instinct, nourishment and harm, clarity and collapse, served plainly, without apology.
