about this paper mache sculpture

This Paper Mache sculpture by Leyla Shoghi explores angelic and demonic dualities, symbolizing the coexistence of good and evil across cultures. Using Paper Mache, Shoghi creates intricate forms through layering techniques, skillfully blending traditional and contemporary artistic influences in her work.

The sculpture draws from Persian carpets and tiles, incorporating motifs that reflect themes of love, protection, and cultural heritage. Shoghi also integrates Rumi’s poetry, infusing the piece with symbolic energies of fertility, healing, and numerological significance.

Angels and demons serve as enduring symbols, representing both guardianship and challenges, central to the work's emotional and cultural depth.
